About YIPSE

YIPSE


Originally conceived as an internal tool for technology scouting, YIPSE™ is an internet search engine focused on finding technologies posted on the internet that are available for license or sale. The search engine is a “learning software” that performs as an internet bot.

Essentially, the software fetches, analyzes and posts technology information from university, government, and corporate web servers located around the globe. Focus is one difference between YIPSE and other search engines, as YIPSE focuses on only identifying technologies which are posted as available for license of sale. Once a technology posting is identified the software analyzes and delivers a technology description in a standard format, i.e. Title, Description, Status, and Inventor. A user can utilize the YIPSE search function and search for keywords associated with a particular type of technology. The search engine scans and identifies relevant technology descriptions and brings the technologies back and displays them in an intuitive web listing layout. The user can then click on a particular technology description and the search engine will take the user directly to the web page, within a given website, which displays the technology’s information.

  YIPSE has a number of proprietary components that make it different from other popular search engines, which allows it to identify and “learn” specific topics of interest. Additional features include being able to search technologies based on the title of the technology, the description of the technology, the patent status, or the inventors name.

To date, the search engine has identified well over 25,000 technologies from colleges & universities, government agencies, private companies and inventors from around the globe.

YIPSE is simply a search engine tool. There are no hidden fees associated with the use of YIPSE, and there are no success fees for transactions that may arise from the use of the YIPSE tool. If you would like to have us provide you scouting lists from YIPSE, please contact us.
 
For inventors and small companies, that might not have a website to post their technologies for license or sale, you can use the YIPSE Submit site to post your listings. There are no fees for you to list your technology and no fees for you to be contacted by parties that might be searching for your type of innovation. Listing is easy and it simply allows you to be found. Users are taken directly to your posting and they see the contact information which you provided. There is no third party interference and you are not prevented from using other parties to market or help you achieve your technology transfer goals.

Although YIPSE is a service of Midwest IP MarketPlace, Midwest IP is not involved in the transaction or discussions between the search party or IP holder, other than providing the search engine to our clients. However, if the technology owner desires our assistance, we will work with clients to classify and prioritize their existing IP assets, and then help create strategies to leverage those assets to the benefit of the client.
